Gifts for the Goldendoodle Lover

December 2, 2018 by Stacy Craft Leave a Comment

If you need gifts for the Goldendoodle lover in your life, look no further. We have scoured the internet for the cutest doodle merchandise out there.

ultimate gift guide for the Goldendoodle mom

Meet Murphy. He loves to steal things that don’t belong to him, act scared of inanimate options, and bark when a leaf blows by. He was a gift that I gave to my mom a couple of years ago.

It is safe to say that she would love any of these gifts for the Goldendoodle lover. She is officially obsessed with this big ball of fur.

Murphy is probably what most would consider spoiled.

He has every dog toy available. A deluxe dog bed is waiting for him in the corner of the room (although he opts for the bed or couch typically).

Murphy loves to go to doggy day care while my mom works so that he stays occupied and can see his friends. Yes, he has his own friends. He is the product of an empty nest mother and he is proud of it.

Since he doesn’t want for much so as the upcoming holiday season approaches, I thought I would look for some Goldendoodle gifts that my mom might like that would portray her favorite doodle.

Store Bought Halloween Snacks That Aren’t Candy

31 store bought Halloween snacks that aren’t candy to send with your kids to school.

31 Non candy Halloween treats

31 Healthier Non-Candy Halloween Treats that the Kids will Still Love

(Affiliate Links are used in this post. A small commission may be paid to me at no extra cost to you and that helps to support this page. Please see my disclosures page for additional information.)

The one thing about Halloween that I didn’t fully grasp before becoming a mom was all the sugar surrounding the holiday. Of course I knew a big orange Jack O Lantern bucket would come home filled with candy on Halloween night after a long evening of Trick or Treating.

What I didn’t realize was that there would be school parties and fall festivals and hay rides and trunk or treats that seem to take up the entire month of October. All of these activities seem to center around candy and treat bags and cupcakes.

I don’t mind my kids having treats but 31 days in a row seems a little excessive so I created a list of store bought Halloween snacks that aren’t candy.

Some on this list are healthier than others. I think it is important to remember that these are still treats so it isn’t going to be like giving out carrot sticks but they are an improvement from just pure sugar candies. (And your kids will still like you, not sure about that if you start handing out carrots!)

Check out these 9 Healthy options for your Halloween Candy Bowls.

Store Bought Halloween Snacks That Aren’t Candy

When you need something to take to a school class party, there is not always time to whip up some crafty Pinterest masterpiece.

This list of store bought Halloween snacks that aren’t candy provides at least a slightly healthier option for your kiddos and their friends.

Also, since candy has gotten so expensive, some of these make economical treats to hand out on Halloween night to your Trick or Treating crowd. All of these items are individually packaged if you want to pass out on Halloween or if your school requires the treat to be packaged by the manufacturer.

Vanilla Pudding Cup – Draw a Ghost face on with a sharpie

Glow in the Dark Plastic Halloween cup & Milk Magic Straw

Rice Krispies Halloween Mini Squares

Spookylicious Pop Tart – You can probably buy two boxes and give each kid in the class a 2 pack. Now they have a treat for breakfast! (leave it up to their mom to add some fruit, not your problem!) They are also making these Halloween Pop Tart minis this year which I like also.

Chocolate Twinkies with S’cream Filling

Halloween Hostess Glo Balls

Blue Bird Halloween Cakes

Nabisco Halloween Snack Cookies Variety Pack

The kids will still love these choices and you will feel good about adding some variety to the class goody bag, Halloween Party, or the Trick Or Treat bag.

These are a bit more expensive to make so they might not be an option for Trick or Treat handouts if you get a lot of visitors. But they are so super cute for favors, Halloween parties, school parties or to “Boo” your neighbors with kids!

Paw Patrol 6 Volt Ride-On Toy Review

October 27, 2019 by Stacy Craft 1 Comment

If you are considering a Paw Patrol plush rider for your little Chase, Marshall, Skye fan, read this review to find out all the details of this toy!

2019 Christmas gift idea for kids - Paw Patrol 6V Ride-on Toy - Chase, Skye or Marshall Options

My youngest recently turned 2 years old. I’m still not even sure how that is possible! It feels like just a few weeks ago that he was brought into this world.

But now instead of a little baby that enjoys bottles and naps, now he is a Paw Patrol obsessed toddler. Since his big sister also went through a Paw Patrol phase, he inherited quite a few Paw Patrol toys.

And for his Birthday, he got lots of additional Paw Patrol toys to love. On the day of his party, his grandparents brought in this big plush Chase, complete with his own pup house!

A life size Chase that moves and will take you for a ride? It was an instant hit.

Since Christmas time is approaching, I thought I would write a Paw Patrol 6 Volt Ride-on Toy review to help you if you are considering this toy for your child. Find out all the ins and outs of this fun Paw Patrol toy.

*Update: We are coming up on a year of owning this toy and it is still being played with all the time! It is definitely a bigger hit with our almost 3 year old but even the 6 year old enjoys riding it.

(Affiliate Links are used in this post. A small commission may be paid to me at no extra cost to you and that helps to support this page. Please see my disclosures page for additional information.)

Paw Patrol 6 Volt Ride-On Toy Review

Paw Patrol really comes alive with this new plush ride on toy. This Paw Patrol 6 Volt Ride on Toy Review will give you all the answers to the things you will love, hate & the experience your child will likely have with the product!

Paw Patrol Character Choice

The first thing to do is choose your child’s favorite character. They currently have Chase, Marshall & Skye options.

We have the Chase at our house but the Marshall is on sale at Walmart right now for $99 (reg. $149).

*Note: Online prices may change at any time.

Charging the Pup

With a good overnight charge, the toy will run for quite a few hours. I don’t know the exact time but Chase got tons of use from about 7 am until 1 pm and was still going strong.

I liked that it doesn’t run out of charge super quick because we all know what it is like to have a kid wanting to use their new toy and the battery is dead.

Kid’s Reaction

Before we go on to any additional details, let’s get to the good stuff in this Paw Patrol 6 Volt Ride-On Toy Review. Your child’s reaction to this new realistic Paw Patrol buddy.

My son was absolutely thrilled to see this big buy roll through our doors.

Paw Patrol Chase Plush Ride On Toy for Kids

He instantly hopped on and was driving through my living room. And his 5 year old sister that doesn’t like Paw Patrol anymore? She was dying for a turn on this plush moving pup as well.

When a life size dog comes into your house and wants to take you on a ride, there just isn’t anything bad about that!

We had his party at our home this year and every single kid that came in (ages 1-7) wanted a turn on Chase. It was definitely the hit of the party.

Recommended Age & Ease of Use

My daughter got a ride on BMW a few years ago from her same set of grandparents. And while it is so cute, it was really hard for her to navigate and still is at age 5.

This Paw Patrol Plush 6V toy is the exact opposite. It is very easy to navigate, even for a 2 year old. It turns easily which keeps the “I’m stuck” commentary to a minimum (although it does still happen!)

The minimum use age from the manufacturer is 2. We had a couple of kids that were 2 or about to be at his party and all were able to easily get on the pup and use the foot accelerator alone (with supervision of course).

I couldn’t find a maximum weight limit. But we had 5-7 year olds riding it and it was fine.

Care Instructions

So I think the best part of this Paw Patrol plush ride on toy, aside for the kid’s joy of course, is the easy care for this toy.

Someone was thinking when they made this toy! The entire plush dog comes off and can be thrown in your washing machine.

And that is good because the birthday boy at our house decided to eat his cupcake while he rode Chase so we have some dried icing on our pup’s head to deal with.

Pup House

The other item that you get with your pup is the coordinating pup house.

It is a plastic house with a working swing door. During the birthday party, many of the kids got inside the house to pretend they were a pup.

The house will also contain the 6V ride on toy when it is not in use.

Sounds

I am not sure if all of the pups do the same, so I will just talk about the Chase.

Each handlebar has a button that can be pushed to hear a sound. For the Chase, one sound is a police siren and the other is a barking dog.

The kids seemed to enjoy the sound feature and I liked that it was not ridiculously loud or annoying!

Cons of the 6V Plush Paw Patrol Ride On Pup

We really like this toy and as I’m sure you can tell from this Paw Patrol 6 Volt Ride-On Toy Review, we recommend it.

However, there are some things that you should know before buying. These are not deal breakers for us but it is always good to know before you buy.

6V Motor

The toy is a 6V with a maximum speed of 2.5 MPH. This is actually a pro in my book because it means less chance for injury with my dare devil two year old.

However, some people have stated that it is too slow for their four year old. My 5 year old really liked to ride on her brother’s new Paw Patrol ride and hasn’t complained about the speed but it is something to keep in mind if you are getting it for a preschooler.

No Reverse

The Paw Patrol plush ride on toy only goes forward. There is not a reverse feature.

What this means is that they may get stuck more often. We were able to clear a path through our living room, dining room and kitchen that he can circle around with few incidents to eliminate the issue.

Works Best On Smooth, Hard Surfaces

This toy works best on hardwood, tile or concrete.

We have a large, thick area rug that the toy will roll on but occasionally it will get stuck trying to transition from the hardwood to the rug.

Hopefully this Paw Patrol 6 Volt Ride-On Toy Review helps you in your decision as to whether or not to purchase this toy!

DIY Paint A Pumpkin Kit

October 15, 2019 by Stacy Craft 2 Comments

Add tons of fun to Halloween this year with this DIY Paint a Pumpkin Favor Kit for kids!

Easy Halloween Favor DIY Paint A Pumpkin Kit

Free Printable - DIY Paint A Pumpkin Kit for easy Halloween Favors the Kids will Love

Last year our neighbor “Boo’d” us in October. We walked out the front door to find a bucket with a few little Halloween favors and a bunch of candy. And it was so fun. So I wanted to think of a little twist on this popular tradition of leaving a Halloween treat at the doorstep of friends and neighbors.

But I wanted to avoid food for a couple of reasons. One is that it is often still hot in October here and so that makes for the potential of a melted chocolate mess. And the second reason is because we get so many treats and sugar in October. Of course we indulge in some extra treats but I love having an alternative crafty activity for the kids.

A few years ago, a friend of mine introduced me to painting pumpkins with kids. We never did this when I was a kid so I was new to the painted pumpkin party. And you know what? Kids adore painting pumpkins. Mine look forward to it every year.

So the DIY Paint a Pumpkin kit idea was born from this activity. The kits give each child everything they need to paint their own pumpkin at home. Spooky and creepy or sweet and pretty? The kids decide! This activity is great for toddlers through elementary aged kids.

DIY Paint A Pumpkin Kit

Making a DIY paint a pumpkin kit is simple and easy and the kids will love it.

Inside the kids will find everything that they need to paint the perfect pumpkin!

Paint, Paintbrush, Mini Pumpkin Favor Kit for Kids at Halloween

Materials:

  • Small Pumpkins
  • Empty Paint Pots
  • Paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Black Crinkle Paper
  • Clear Favor Bags
  • Orange Raffia or Ribbon

I got the pumpkins at a local pumpkin patch for a little under $1 each, the paint pots are on Amazon, and everything else was from the Dollar Tree except for the paint. I always have lots of paint on hand, so I just used what I had to fill the pots.

The orange Raffia was from the Dollar Spot at Target.

Make The Paint a Pumpkin Favor Bags

To make the favors, place a little bit of the black crinkle paper shreds in the bottom of the clear bag.

The empty paint pots can easily be cut apart with sharp scissors. I put 3 pods in each DIY Paint a Pumpkin kit.

Then add a mini pumpkin, paint brush and 3 paint pods filled with paint.

Then you will want to print the Free Gift Tag (Below) and attach it to the bag and close the bag with the raffia.

Where To Use These Halloween Kits

DIY Paint a Pumpkin Kit favors are great as an alternative to “Boo’ing” your neighbors.

They are also so cute for Halloween school or Mother’s Day Out parties. And since they are Teal Pumpkin approved, no worries about kiddos with allergies!

We are even going to do these as Birthday party favors for my 2 year old son’s October birthday.

I love that they are a non-candy and no junk favor option.

In case you have never painted pumpkins, here are my two living their best life! They spent quite a while painting these little beauties yesterday.

Toddler Easter Basket Fillers Purchased Online

March 29, 2020 by Stacy Craft Leave a Comment

Toddler Easter basket fillers purchased online make the most sense for our current state of affairs at the moment.

These Easter treats are fun and entertaining while allowing you to keep a safe social distance while shopping.

Toddler Easter Basket Fillers Purchased Online

Many people in our country are being asked to stay at home or at least practice social distancing due to COVID-19.

While this is an uneasy time, I am doing my best to trust our doctors and elected officials to help us through this situation.

And of course Easter is coming up. Normally for us that means church egg hunts, a big family dinner, shopping for special clothing and treats for our baskets and a trip to the mall for a visit with the Easter Bunny himself.

But not this year. I came to the sad realization this morning, that we won’t be able to continue with our normal traditions this year. But we will make the most of it & start some new, fun activities this year.

We will social distance but it won’t stop our celebrations!

So to do my part in social distancing, I’m looking for toddler Easter basket fillers purchased online to fill baskets without a trip to the store. And let me be honest, this is typically my reality anyway.

Shopping online is so much easier for a mom with young kids. And now it is safer for me, my kids and the retail employees running the stores. So our bunny is going digital this year.

Toddler Easter Basket Fillers Purchased Online

Make life easier with toddler Easter basket fillers purchased online instead of going into a retail store.

And don’t forget to shop early. Since COVID-19 has been a concern, many stores have been running out of key supplies. Many items (even toys) are back ordered and the shipping speeds for many companies are running longer than usual since.

Pin for Later Here!

Easter Basket Toys And Crafts

Melissa & Doug Decorate Your Own Wooden Train Craft or Butterfly Magnets  – These are so cute & less than $5 a kit!

Board Books – My Toddler is getting Count on the Easter Pups (Paw Patrol) this year. It’s Not Easy Being a Bunny is also a cute one and we like the God Gave Us series.

Paw Patrol Finger Puppets – both of my little ones have loved Paw Patrol as Toddlers. These are cute & inexpensive.

Fur Real Lil Wags – My 6 year old got one of these for Valentine’s Day and my 2 year old loved it! He spends tons of time running around “walking” the Fur Real pet. And for under $10 bucks, it is a great Easter Basket stuffer.

Peter Cottontail Painting Coloring Book – I’m in love with this. So cute & affordable.

Bubble Wands – These $1 bubble wands ship free if you use your Target Red Card Debit or CC.

Play Doh – Play Doh is great because it encourages hands on playtime. I also like that you can bulk up an Easter basket inexpensively with some pretty pastel colors!

Bubble Bath – Bath time is always fun with some new bubbles.

Art Supplies – Keep little ones busy with crayons (these are my fave for 2-3 year olds). Mess Free Coloring Books are great too.

Green Toys – These are great quality toys and under $20 (some around $10). We like to play with them in the bath tub. There are boats, submarines, stacking toys and cars.

Little Tikes Catch N Stick – This is a cute little game of catch that even my 2 year old can do.

Easter Basket Essentials

PJs – Pajamas are always in our Easter basket because they are practical. And it is always fun to get a fresh pair of spring pajamas. Carter’s has Easter bunny and regular PJs on sale right now for $6 and free shipping on any order.

Flip Flops – Carter’s also has their toddler flip flops on doorbuster right now!

Character Spinbrush – Both of my kids love their spinbrush. It makes brushing teeth fun and their favorite character always finds its way into the Easter Basket.

I hope this list of toddler Easter basket fillers purchased online helps to make things easier and safer for you this Easter season.
