Since my 2nd child was born, I have been serious about THM (although I had done it before and failed).
My approach to Trim Healthy Mama is in general pretty simplistic. I follow THM in the way that the sisters originally wrote the plan. A simple, whole foods approach.
Since then, they have developed lots of special ingredients. Which is great, people want the ability to make a fancy cake or a thick gravy on occasion.
However, my goal is to remind people (especially those starting out) that you don’t have to have 30 special ingredients to start this plan and be successful. I very rarely use anything other than Stevia and even that I don’t use much.
The plan works with simple, natural foods that you can find at any grocery store! How exciting!

THM No Cook Breakfast Ideas
Not a morning person? No time to cook a big spread in the morning? In your life before THM were you more of a grab n go kinda girl?
No worries! You don’t have to drag out your skillet or muffin pans every morning to get an on plan breakfast in your belly. Here are some easy ideas for you to try.
Homemade Lunchable – String Cheese, Nuts and Diced ham, Salami or Lunch Meat, Berries
Boiled Eggs, String Cheese, Berries (If you don’t want to prep these, the grocery stores and even some gas stations sell boiled eggs)
Sugar Free Peanut Butter and Polaners Tortilla Roll Up (Use a low carb tortilla or 1/2 Lavash bread or Joseph’s Pita)
BLT Wrap – Use the precooked Microwavable Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato, wrap in any of the wraps/tortillas listed above.
2 minute Microwave Egg Scrambles (cooking in the microwave doesn’t count right? Especially when it is this easy)
Celery with Peanut Butter
Avocado Wasa “Toast” sprinkled with Red Pepper
Sprouted Toast with Light Laughing Cow and Polaner’s. Triple 000 Yogurt.
Sprouted Toast topped with 2% Cottage cheese and everything bagel seasoning. Side of fruit.
Love Grown O’s – Stick to the serving size. I like to about a teaspoon of stevia, 1/2 a banana and unsweetened Vanilla Almond milk. These are personal choice so it may be best not to over do it but I have never had any problems with this. And when it is prepared as described, I actually really enjoy it. Just slightly sweet from the banana and bit of Stevia and nice crunchy.
Ezekial cereal is another ready to eat option.
Brown Rice Cake topped with Light Laughing Cow and everything bagel seasoning or cinnamon. Lean deli meat for some protein on the side.
Apple with powdered peanut butter. Add some microwavable turkey sausage links for some added protein if you like or mix the peanut butter into a vanilla Triple 000 yogurt.
Triple 000 Yogurt – A lot of people will say this isn’t enough food but on a day that I am in a huge rush or just not very hungry, it gets something into my body quickly.
Other THM On Plan Easy Breakfast Options
In addition to those simple prep options listed above, there are some other things that you can do to add variety without a ton of cooking every morning.
Lots of people like to prep breakfast for the week. You spend a little time on the weekend prepping and then during the work week you can grab, microwave and go.
Some favorites are prepping baked oatmeal or oatmeal on the go cups.
And there are quite a few muffin in a mug recipes that can be made in the microwave for an easy meal.
Another idea is to prep a big batch of eggs and some type of breakfast meat (ham, bacon, sausage). Then add a little cheese and wrap in a low carb tortilla. Wrap each breakfast burrito in clear plastic wrap and then aluminum foil. To cook, remove wrap, cover in a damp paper towel and microwave until warm.
