Halloween Witch Hat Bugles

Halloween witch hat Bugles are the perfect salty/sweet snack for a Halloween party or treat bag.

Salty and Sweet Halloween Witch Hat Bugles

During the month of October, I am always looking for ways to tun ordinary food into cute Halloween inspired treats.

We make ghosts out of breakfast bagels, mummies out of granola bars and no bake pumpkin cupcakes and no bake Frankenstein brownies. Halloween is just so fun!

As you can see from those treats, easy and no bake treats are often on our spooky Halloween plate. With young kids, simple desserts equals desserts that get done. Those elaborate ones will have to stay on my Pinterest board for a few more years.

These Halloween witch hat Bugles are not exception. They are quick, cute and tasty.

Halloween Witch Hat Bugles

Have you ever had chocolate dipped Bugles? They are some of my favorite simple treats. Salty and sweet. Crunchy chips and smooth chocolate. What’s not to love?

And the Bugle is already shaped into the perfect spooky witch hat! Which is going to make your Halloween treat production that much easier.

You just need 3 ingredients and about 10 minutes to make these.

Halloween Witch Hat Bugles dipped in Sprinkles

Ingredients for Chocolate Witch Hat Bugles

  • Almond Bark
  • Bugles
  • Halloween Nonpareils

I tried these treats with Halloween shaped sprinkles (bats and pumpkins) and with the regular fine sprinkles. The shaped sprinkles make even coverage difficult.

The Nonpareils worked best because they help to cover imperfections in your chocolate dipping skills. The finer sprinkles really showed uneven lines on the chocolate but the nonpareils give the illusion of a straighter line.

Instructions for the Witch Hat Snacks

First, melt the almond bark or melting chocolate wafers in the microwave according to the package directions.

While holding the tip of the Bugle, dip the open side into the chocolate. You want to dip about a half inch or so. Don’t worry about being precise. That is the beauty of these witch treats, no need for specifics.

Bugles Dipped in White Chocolate

Once your Bugle is dipped, gently roll the Bugle into a small bowl of orange and black nonpareils until the desired coverage is achieved.

Lay the wet Bugles onto a piece of was paper or a silicone baking mat.

Once they are dry you can display them in a candy dish or put them in a ziplock bag to preserve their freshness.

Depending on how big the opening is on the Bugles, some of them will even stand up on their own. Will you be making these Halloween Witch Hat Bugles this season?

These look delicious! I’ve never heard of a bugle before, I’ll have to see if I can get them in the UK.
